Regal is Saved!!!!!

This past week Central Texas received up to 8 inches of rain.  Local streams rose, their banks eroded, and large amounts of soil, debris, and even tree limbs were uprooted and sent downstream.

At Lockhart State Park, Regal took the lead, as usual, saw the engorged steam, and went to explore.  What was not usual was the total lack of soil firmness.  By the time we got to the stream bank, we looked down the 5 foot embankment, and there she was in the water with a surprised and uncertain look on her face.  She had fallen into a muddy creek and could not gain any traction to pull herself up.  She smartly headed for flotsam in the middle of the stream, but that didn’t improve her situation.

The rescue squad hustled to the other side of the stream and command Regal to “heal”, where she was grabbed by the collar and pulled to safety.

Afterward Regal cleaned up and went along her merry ole way, like nothing happened. I did note on our way back, she went over the bridge instead of trying out the water for a crossing. Guess she learned something.

Regal the Leaf Dog

We went to the Perdalnales River and Regal was in her element. In and out of the river she went.  After a good swim  she thought the leaves were a fun spot to roll, hence Regal the Leaf Dog.

While there I spotted this wonderful Carolina Chickadee.
