Various Outings near Austin

We try to go exploring in the areas around Austin and during these times we sometimes come across some interesting animals or just a new place.  Here are some photos of these areas.

 Some photos of front yards

Cool car parked on Congress St in Austin

This guy came over to us and said we were sitting on his bench.. he said it was OK to sit there because that bench was the best one in Zilker.  He was correct about that, the bench sits under a huge tree affording us lots of shade on a hot day. His name is Railroad and he says he rides the trains whenever he can.

Palmetto State Park

One of our favorite state parks is Palmetto. Palmetto State Park, named for the tropical dwarf palmetto plant found there It is located southeast Luling, TX. We have been there a few times and here are some of the pictures from our visits.

Spanish Moss

This is a wheel that is embedded in the tree. I don't know how long this wheel has been there, but from the size of the tree it has been there for quite some time.

Pedernales State Park

The day started out threatening rain but we continued on to Pedernales State Park. There is a bird blind that is a wonderful first stop, especially in the rain. On the hike we  came across several water crossings one of which was named Regal Creek.

Regal is so happy!!! She has a creek now.
